In Memory ofMacpherson “Mac” Conner, 1930-2013

Macpherson “Mac” Conner of Walker Valley, NY  died Sunday, July 14, 2013 in New York City at the age of 83. He was self-employed and the founder of Macpherson Conner & Associates, New City, NY.  Upon his retirement, Mac found great enjoyment in spending time with family, friends and traveling within the US and abroad. His happiest days were spent at the family compound at Brandreth Park, NY in the Adirondack Mountains.

The son of the late Fox B. Conner and Muriel Macpherson Conner, he was born March 27, 1930 in Mt. Kisco, NY.

Mac graduated in 1952 from the West Point Military Academy as did his father and grandfather, Major General Fox Conner. General Conner played a critical role in the life and career of General Dwight D. Eisenhower among other notable achievements.

Mac proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict having attained the rank of Lieutenant. He was severely wounded during the last battle for Pork Chop Hill and was ultimately awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and other military accolades.

Mac married Jane LeClere in September, 1955. They had been married for 56 years at the time of her death in November of 2011. As the foundation of the Conner family, Mac and Jane were generous, had huge hearts and were fiercely loyal to each other and their family & friends.  Their absence, both individually and as a couple, leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of everyone who knew them.

Survivors include daughters Betsy Agostinho of Walker Valley, NY, Wendy Laudenbach and her husband James of Nazareth, Pa and Holly Boyle of Walden, NY.  His surviving sons include Drew Conner & his wife Lori of Bardonia, NY as well as Fox Conner & his wife Lisa of Congers, NY.

Mac was completely devoted to his nine surviving grandchildren. They include Jeff, Derrick, Brittany & Sirena Boyle, Christopher & Patrick Laudenbach, Fox & Robert Conner and Bryce Conner a.k.a. “Mini-Mac”.  A brother, Fox Conner of CA, also survives him. Mac’s sister, Zella (Suzie) MacDonald, pre-deceased him in 1983.
